The Change-Up

This raunchy comedy staring Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds is about two best friends who’s lives are different in every way and end up switching places with each other. Ironically, they end up learning more about themselves than each other.

Bateman plays Dave Lockwood, a family man and hot shot lawyer whose life is consumed by his work and children leaving him to neglect his wife and their relationship. Reynolds plays Mitch Planko, a reckless playboy who’s lack of ambition gets him nowhere in life. When the two magically switch places, confusion and hilarity ensue. In Dave’s body, Mitch must prove to himself that he’s no quitter. With Mitch’s body, Dave takes the opportunity to do all the things he missed out on while chasing his career.  Overall, this movie may not be the funniest movie of the year, or even the summer, but it’s entertaining and it will definitely give you a few laughs.

The Switch

Kassie, played by Jennifer Aniston, wants to have a baby as a single mother. She seeks a sperm doner to fulfil her task. All while her best friend Wally, Jason Bateman, despises her decision. During Kassie’s pregnancy party Wally drukenly and unknowingly switches the donor’s sperm with his own.

The story revolves more about Wally than Kassie. Fortunately because Bateman really steals the show, it also doesn’t hurt that the kid in the movie is adorable. Overall The switch is a decent romantic-comedy that has little romance and some comedy.
