The Exorcism of Emily Rose
The preview is scary, and I just had to see movie and it being based on a true story just made it more compelling. Good horror movies nowadays are rare. Today, horror-thriller movies ride on the curtails of movies such as The Ring and Sixth Sense raking in money on it’s popularity of the genre. Exorcism of Emily Rose takes a page or two out of a John Grisham’s novel. The plot describes Emily Rose’s experience through court room testimonials because the priest who performed Emily’s exorcism is being prosecuted for her death.
I can’t say this is as scary as what I saw in the previews, but it does keeps you on the edge of your seat at times. If you’re looking for some hardcore horror blood and guts or even something as scary as the original Exorcist then you’ll better off waiting for a rental. The story is excellent and the court room drama is exceptional but not great.
Day 7
It’s been a week now since I’ve started on my vegetarian diet. It’s not as difficult as I expected, but its only been seven days. It’s only tough when my co-workers are pigging out on burgers and turkey sandwiches. So far I’ve been eating imitation meat and tofu with rice and noodles; ramen and chow mein. It’s not very tasty, but I manage. I’ve been snacking on chex mix to keep my tummy full.
I got about three and a half weeks left. This vegetarian diet doesn’t seem so bad. It feels like I can go beyond then just a month. Well, that’s just how I feel so far. Maybe it’ll take another week till my stomach craves for some meat and Rosco will start to look yummy.
Rosco and friend
Rosco is growing up really quick. He’s almost a pound heavier and that’s a lot consider that about it’s more than a third of his weight since I got him.
Here is a picture of him and his favorite chew toy (Rosco is the one on the right).
Day 3
Yup, it’s been three days without eating meat. It’s not much of a deal yet as I’ve gone about six to seven days without meat before. So far I’ve been eating noodles, bread, and candy. I feel a bit tired but that’s probably due to lack of sleep from Rosco waiting me up in the middle of the night.
No Meat!
It’s the first of September and a fresh start for a new month. I’ve been pretty busy lately and haven’t really have time just to relax. Again, I’ve been taking care of Rosco by taking him to the vet and continuing to housebreak him as well as working the other half of the day. It’s practically the end of summer and I haven’t even solved my Rubik’s cube nor did I finish Final Fantasy VII. Hopefully I’ll be able to complete both in the near future. I also got two races coming next month and I should be in training.
Well, with all the things I’ve started and haven’t yet completed I decided to take on another project; I’ll try to be a vegetarian for the month of September. You heard that right. No meat for 30 days. I’ve known to be eating constantly and removing meat from my diet is basically everything. The longest I’ve gone with out meat was probably about seven days. Lets see how far I can go. I can’t promise anything, but I’ll definitely try my hardest. I’ll be posting my meals and status from time to time on my blog, so it’ll be a good way to journalize this so-called experiment. Yesterday, I spent my day pigging myself out to hotlinks, turkey sandwiches, and a gut-busting meal from In and Out Burger. Now, as I look at my scale I weigh about 159 lbs, which is a little more on the average of what I usually weigh. Lets see if this vegetarian thing all its cut out to be.
Coffee and Antioxidants
No more vegetables, more coffee!
Constantine
I first watched this movie in the theaters when it first came out. I didn’t expect much from it. Keanu Reeves is not known for his acting abilities, but in this supernatural thriller it suits him well. Reeves plays, John Constantine, a private investigator that battles demons and other creatures of the underworld not because he’s a good guy but to buy his way into heaven. Rachel Wiez plays a cop who seeks help from Constantine to explain her sister’s death but ends up finding more than she wanted.
The movie is a combination of The Excorcist and The Mummy. The movie has a lot of action and delves in a bit of the dark side of Catholicism. I’m not religious but the stories behind the movies are very interesting.
