January is not a popular month for movies as all the big releases are usually set around the Holiday season. Annapolis isn’t much of a military movie, but a military school movie. James Franco plays a young man who gets accepted to Annapolis, a Naval Academy. No one believes in him and expects him to fail. The story is definately not original and everyone will know the outcome. Annapolis involves Franco joining a boxing tournement in the Academy. At times it seems more like a Rocky movie. Franco has a love interest in the movie, but it never materializes. I wouldn’t say this is a romantic movie, an inspirational movie, or even a sports movie. It falls somewhere between, ‘I only saw this because there was nothing else’ movie.
